Project Notes

From brief to rollout.

Challenge

The program stretches from an open call for aspiring muralists into studio learning, collaboration, and a large-scale public artwork connected to Houston's World Cup moment. The story needed to hold the final mural, the selected artists, and the learning process with equal care.

Approach

Array Studio documented the launch meeting in the studio space provided by Magpies & Peacocks, then continued building behind-the-scenes coverage, artist interviews, and process visuals around Betirri and the apprenticeship team as the mural developed.

Outcome

The documentation frames the mural as both a public artwork and an investment in local creative growth, showing how artists bring their own identities, perspectives, and skills into a shared piece for the East End.
